Vaidis Valaitis

Creating art just feels good to me. Creating it with ceramics makes me feel as if I’m sculpting with a living art form, which I find exciting.

My creative ideas usually come from thinking of or remembering an object that stayed with me. I try to interpret physical objects within an abstract vision. That generates a feeling that I can relate to and embrace, and that is when I start creating.

My finished art often looks different from the abstract vision with which I began. For me, the creative process brings in new awareness and new visions. Therefore I initially don’t have a clear final image of the sculpture. But it always lets me know when I’m done.
