Laurel Marinelli
I work with clay because I love to see my imagination come to life in a medium this forgiving and tactile. I love its physicality. Working with clay grounds me. It makes me slow down. It forces me to be present as I work. There is magic in transforming an idea into a visual object; magic in making a feeling come to life in a ceramic vignette.

Artist's biography:
I live in San Geronimo Ca. and work in my small home workshop. For many years I made functional and whimsical ceramics which I sold at craft fairs and art festivals throughout the Bay Area. I have taken several ceramics classes at COM and also recently classes at Terra Linda Ceramics. I am nourished by the sense of community created by working with others.
