Cornelia Nevitt
My work is very introspective. I create from my own imagination; birds, flowers, clouds, human figures often incorporated into dreamlike landscapes. Etching, sculpture, and painting are favored media for me becauseI pay close attention to detail. I have been very much influenced by Northern Renaissance artists, Asian art, the Expressionists, religion, and a deep love of nature. I do not interpret my work, some of it is mysterious even to me, but I believe that ambiguity is an important part of its’ appeal. It is subjective, personal, art that reflects my own inner world as I am able to interpret it in images drawn from my human environment and from nature.
